The origins of Poker, its influence on Slots and the birth of Video Poker
Although the origins of poker are as enigmatic as your opponents hand, the beginnings of the popular card game can be traced back to some time during the early 19th century in the United States.

The popularity of the famous card game expanded with the american frontier and so did it’s influence on gambling. Toward the end of the century, pokers popularity was evident by its influence on the advance of commercial gambling technology. In 1891, the first slot machine was invented when the Sittman and Pitt Company from New York built a poker inspired machine that had five reels containing the images of 10 playing cards. When operated, each reel would then spin and eventually stop on a playing card, making a final poker hand.

Fast forward all the way to the 1970’s, Dale Electronics introduced the world’s first video poker machine dubbed the “Poker-Matic.” Even though it was not popular during the time, it was still installed in every Vegas Casino, which in turn laid the groundwork for the future of Video Poker.

How to play Jacks or Better
When it comes to our Video Poker game, we have chosen to follow the industry standard when it comes to game rules. Regularly referred to “Jacks or Better” is the most popular version of Video Poker, where the payoffs begin at a pair of jacks.

Once you accept your wager, the dealer will draw you five cards. From there you select which you want to keep and which you want to discard. If you choose to discard certain cards, you are then dealt replacements and your final hand then dictates whether you win or lose. The better your hand is (based on the traditional poker hand hierarchy) the more you win.

Still prefer pvp poker but I'll take anything new to break up the games routine I've literally memorized I think haha

Will there be an option to double up upon a win? these are the type of jacks or better games i get  crazy obsessed playing!!!!

The gamble feature will not be incorporated in the initial video poker version. We may look at incorporating something similar once we release our slots game.

You can only swap once. Just as all traditional video poker games work.

I like the J or better incarnation you decided on! Looking forward to playing it. All the other formats with wilds and other razzmatazz just confuses me and frustrates me when I realize that 2 pair isn’t a winning hand lol
