Nick Kyrgios - Norbert Gombos prediction

Featured Comment

Nick Kyrgios won the last match he played against Yoshihito Nishioka in straight sets, a match that took only 20 games to decide the winner. Kyrgios won 85 percent of his first serve points and 36 percent of his second serve points. Overall he won 73% of his total service points and managed to get 4 breaks out of the 9 chances that he got. He served 15 aces in that match and saved one of the two break points that he offered to his opponent. Kyrgios is one of the most talented player in the world and when he serving well and doesn't make stupid mistakes he could probably beat any player in the world. He's capable of that as he's well known for beating pretty much everyone in the top 10 including Nadal, Federer and Djokovic. The only problem is that Kyrgios can't stay focused and motivated to win more matches. You just don't know what to expect from his because most of the times he doesn't care about the outcome of a match and he's there just to impress the crowd. Overall Kyrgios won 5 out of his last 6 matches played in hard court.

Norbert Gombos won his last match in three sets that took 29 games. Gombos won 75 percent of his first serve points and 42 percent of his second serve points. Overall he won 63% of his total service points and made 2 breaks out of the 6 chances that he had. Gombos his 8 aces in that victory and successfully saved 5 of the 8 break points he offered to his opponent. The victory he got in the last match was very impressive because first of all he was an underdog and secondly he lost the first set 6-1. At that points most players would lose focus and motivation but he kept fighting and managed to win in the end. Gombos won 2 out of his last 4 matches on hard court.

Gombos is a player outside of top 100 as he is ranked 137 in the world. He had some great results in smaller tournaments like challengers but nothing impressive on the main ATP tour, thats why I don't think two victories are enough to trust him. Kyrgios has looked good in the last two matches and this one should also not be a problem for him as his opponent is not very strong. You never know what could change after night with Kyrgios but as long as he doesn't do anything stupid he should get an easy win here.

My pick for this match is Kyrgios to win. For higher odds you could bet on correct score 2-0 Kyrgios.
