Lucas Holder 13 Posted March 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2020 (edited) UPDATE: Chrome Extension is available at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/provably-fair/ahooddoodalfhhjfpdgcmkklhfefjdem Long time lurker/gamer but new member here in the forum! Hope it's OK to make this kind of post here. I wanted to share a project I am currently working on: a browser extension for verifying bets on Stake. It uses Rust/WebAssembly so it's blazing fast and lightweight The UI is really ugly right now, it's very much a work in progress. When it's more polished, I will open source it on GitHub and release it on Chrome Web Store. Just a sneak peak for now Edited April 11, 2020 by Lucas Holder reebox and TheGreenTree 2 Link to post

Seoulmate 160 Posted March 13, 2020 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2020 you might consider some other functionality as I dont think repeat usage will be common on just a bet verifier function. Initially a new player may verify some bets to reassure themselves of the sites fairness, but after they confirm that these bets are legitimate they tend to assume everything is ok with the site, and don't feel a need to repeat that process. Perhaps a martingale calculator, that tells players what the on loss percentage should be for any particular target multiplier. For example if I am chasing a target of 10x, the plug in could tell me that my on loss should be 11.01% Lucas Holder 1 Link to post
Lucas Holder 13 Posted March 14, 2020 Author Share #6 Posted March 14, 2020 Thanks for the warm welcome and constructive feedback everyone. 11 hours ago, Seoulmate said: you might consider some other functionality as I dont think repeat usage will be common on just a bet verifier function. I was actually thinking of more deeply integrating with Stake in version 2 of the extension and maybe make it possible to have each bet verified automatically. Regarding martingale calculator, it seems like an interesting an idea but I will focus on finishing this first. Here's my latest iteration (still ugly but added support for a few more games, current supported games are: Baccarat, Dice, Limbo, Hilo, Blackjack). Will keep posting updates in this thread. evet 192 Posted March 14, 2020 Share #7 Posted March 14, 2020 That's nice , nothing can satisfy a curious mind than a reliable verification. Goodluck with the project and I hope you won't have any problems in making it. Lucas Holder 1 Link to post

SLFJ 213 Posted March 16, 2020 Share #10 Posted March 16, 2020 Damn, good luck with this 😃 I believe this will take lots of time, because there's not a lot of verifiers here and especially a guy who's making a verifier for stake rolls, I'd clap for you, keep going. Lucas Holder 1 Link to post
Lucas Holder 13 Posted April 1, 2020 Author Share #11 Posted April 1, 2020 I just open sourced the library I'm using for this (as well as a command line tool) 😀: The extension is still a work in progress! Link to post
jamesbond 49 Posted April 1, 2020 Share #12 Posted April 1, 2020 Good to see an extension like this, will be very useful for stakers to build more trust on stake with a good verifying tool. Wish you good luck. Link to post
reebox 26 Posted April 1, 2020 Share #13 Posted April 1, 2020 I have a little understanding of what you mean, so this is an extension that can be installed on chrome and helps to verify the bet we have. I do not mind that the most important UI is easy to understand when using it. Link to post

Hope you can try it and give me feedback on UI then. Link to post
j240 73 Posted April 2, 2020 Share #15 Posted April 2, 2020 I like this idea and it will be easier to do bet verification when you are curious , i tried the bet validation and i cant understand a thing as im not a techie guy , that extension plus video tutorial can make it way easier. Hope your release a beta version soon!. Lucas Holder 1 Link to post
Lucas Holder 13 Posted April 11, 2020 Author Share #16 Posted April 11, 2020 Hey everyone! Thanks again for the support and encouragement! As promised, the initial version of the extension is now available on Google's Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/provably-fair/ahooddoodalfhhjfpdgcmkklhfefjdem Some screenshots: Here's a short demo: If you're wondering why it requires the "read browser history" permission, it's because when you go on Stake.com's bet verification page, the extension reads the tab's URL to pre-populate the fields to match those on Stake.com's verification page. For example: Keep in mind that this is just a first version. I have big plans ahead! Cheers, Lucas Link to post
BidaManEris 39 Posted April 11, 2020 Share #17 Posted April 11, 2020 Nice work! I hope the management will notice you on this one and get some recognition. You did a good job. The only thing that I am wondering about this is that what makes it really different than using the site's verifier for it to gain more attention? Lucas Holder 1 Link to post

It would be nice to be listed with the other tools in the verification page. Regarding your question, I will work on making it better over time, but at the moment, the big reason is trust. Let me get this out of the way: I have no reason to believe Stake is cheating its users and I don't mean to imply that at all. That said, the beauty of "provably fair" gambling is that it allows players to gamble without having to trust the casino. So if you have absolutely no doubt that the casino is honest, there is no reason to verify bets. But if you have a little doubt or want to double check, you have the possibility to independently verify your bets to make sure you didn't get cheated. Using the casino's verification tool doesn't make sense because if they did cheat you, they could as easily cheat you with their verification tool. You therefore have to use a third-party, neutral verification tool. That's where the Provably Fair extension comes into play. I have no affiliation with Stake and the verification library is open source so anyone (who knows programming) can verify that there is nothing fishy with the verification code: https://github.com/lucasholder/fair I hope I explained this clearly, cheers! wyj1306 490 Posted April 11, 2020 Share #19 Posted April 11, 2020 I am not in the habit of playing this baccarat game, but I found this option very interesting because everything that concerns betting security is welcome, it is a good option to see if things are going smoothly, there will certainly be many people who will use this often. I made this video on YouTube: Basically all you need to do is go on Stake's verification page and click on the extension's icon at the top of your browser. It will generate the game outcome using the client/server seed from Stake. You can then verify that the game outcome given by the extension matches the one Stake gave you. Hope it helps. Let me know if it answers your question. Link to post
Lucas Holder 13 Posted May 1, 2020 Author Share #23 Posted May 1, 2020 So, it seems very few people have tried the extension. I wonder if it's because people don't really care about verifying bets or something else. Any theories? Link to post

I don't really think players are overly concerned with bet verification, once they know its there, its enough for most. Seoulmate mentioned this previously. However the application you have made is very interesting for me as it shows how a seed result manifests across different games on Stake. Link to post
