PLEASE TAKE A SECOND TO ANSWER THE POLL (QUESTION).

There have been many posts about Holdem Poker, but I'd love to see how much of a fan base it has here on Stake. You never know, maybe this may encourage Eddie to think of it as their upcoming game. He did talk about it long ago in a post, which is below. So, lets try and make it happen!!! :D

If you like the game and would love to see it on stake but think there are drawbacks such as hard to implement, or players can cheat etc - I have made an extra choice xD🙄 or else you guys will just not vote. Let Stake decide if it's hard for them or how they'd like to get around the cheaters that may come along.

This is mainly for the poll, but feel free to add your comments too. Also, I really don't care about the satoshis I get from this, if I do. Mods you can remove the sats for it since it's a recurring post and I put no effort to making this, but please don't delete the post. :)

As with any poker site collusion is a very real possibility. People are happy to risk being muted for 0.000000000001, what are they willing to risk for a tried and true way of gaining a huge edge? Lots of people on Stake are friendly enough with each other that I would not be comfortable playing both of them at once.

Hmm I see what you mean, like you would not like to beat your opponent with a big sum if he/she is your friend. I get you :o Thanks for your input :)

Would absolutely love this. Being someone that was in love with the WSOP app before, I can definitely say that I would love texas holdem on stake. It is hopefully something that they are thinking of, and they would have a whole new range of customers, if they were to make it official. :)

Yeah even I was thinking about it once @allisonn mentioned that. But I think once Poker comes to Stake there will be a much bigger crowd not only just the current players but many more from outside. So we won't always be finding ourselves in the same tables. But yes if I do feel uncomfortable with a few on the table I'd just leave and go to another.

Secondly, if tournaments are introduced then it won't be as such - "winning a lot of your friends money" because all of them will be starting out with the same amount. And just like any competition, even international, we sometimes have to play against our friend from the same team, school, university or country. And there's no surprise there, everyone just does their best by playing the game. :) No hard feelings, even siblings have played against each other in big the finals - The Williams in Tennis. :P

No, I mean lets say A and B seem to be friends in Stake chat. They would probably prefer to play poker together as well. However, I would never sit down at a table with both of them together, or most anybody in Stake. You have no idea of knowing how far their relationship goes, A may owe B thousands of dollars or they may be very good friends. At a poker table, the dealer/floor manager makes the rules and friendly chatter is allowed but sharing information is not allowed, even speaking a foreign language is politely and quickly shut down. Since it's impossible for us to know whether they are communicating via external means, how can you be sure they are not colluding or passing information to one another?

Yeah I see what you mean. But for the first part it's up to you to win against one of your friends. If not just don't play on the same table I guess. Also, when you join tables there usually is a max buy in, so you can never take away more than what they bought into that table, so if it's for fun you can easily join a table where the max buy in is not too much for you to feel bad about winning from a friend. 🤷‍♂️ Also if its a tournament, everyone buys in with the same amount and competes against many many players so again beating a friend in that is just about the game and not about money.

To the second part, I'm sure we all have talked about it, and yeah it is something that is pretty hard to catch, but it is the same on any other online poker tables as well. Even on PokerStars I can join a friends table and be communicating pretty much anywhere. But they and many other poker sites are still running, aren't they? And the equivalent in real life would be a player signaling to one of his friends what he has so they both don't end up playing good hands against each other. This is something that happened in a big tournament, on the final table. There's always going to be some cheaters, and people who try to take advantage, but as always they will learn their lesson once they get caught. This is only a poker example, such things happen in every single sport/event. But that doesn't stop the game from going on. That's when they have to make more rules and find ways to minimize this.

Just like how people are not allowed to talk with two account in chat, or use multiple accounts for the telegram challenge and many many more examples, people still do it to their advantage. Is it easy to catch? I don't think so, but if they are caught its a ban or similar. But they never stopped giving rains or stop telegram challenges because of the small % that cheat ya? They just improved it! :D

Anyways my point is that there will always be some people trying to take advantage, and if Eddie thought of only the negatives and risks, he probably wouldn't have started a casino. Cause I'm sure over the years there have been a small portion of people cheating, but the majority in the end, is what makes Stake. :)

Hey just had a few more ideas reading latest thread... about people not wanting to take money from friends, one idea could be to make the tables anonymous, most sites do this with cash now, to stop regs getting reads on players over big samples of hands.

So when you sit at a table instead of being called your stake name it gives you a name like player1 , player2 etc.

I think a lot of us like to share stats with friends, so maybe there could be a poker drop-down added to main stake profile alongside casino and sports, which lists some stats like profit at different stakes, and number of hands played. So people can still see player stats etc.

But personally I think it would be nice to sit at a table with friends we know from stake, and fun to chat and enjoy trying to beat each other.

So maybe stake could offer two versions, anonymous tables and named tables so people can choose.

I think it would prob need good security team / person(s) to track down colluders etc... So would probably be a big investment for stake... But it would bring a whole new market to the Stake, and many poker players sports bet so there could be some great cross promotion as well.

Rigghhhttt, I never thought of that. Well yeah and that would also eliminate the colluding as well, wouldnt it? Because they won't really know where their friends are and they would have to exit and join many times and ask on chat if so and so is on the table, to actually find them (since the names are also like player1, 2, etc).

Yeah there definitely should be one with names and where you can join your friends since its fun. And also tournaments should be left where everyones usernames are there, since the shuffling of tables are random anyways. Only the final table could gave some issues.

Yeah Stake will surely grow bigger and bigger with Poker in it. ❤️

I will welcome it with great pleasure, I myself like to play Texas Holdem Poker bets, so I hear the stake will add this game, of course I will be very waiting for him, but like the options there, to be honest, it's very difficult to make a program, but I don't need think about it, just have to wait and play.

I think it would be a great addition I just think that it would be a little hard to implement a really good project. The sportsbook is a fantastic example. It is a great product and it is good because it is quality. If the try to half ass do it then it would hurt their reputation which is taking a lot advertising and exposure. Stake is ready an online casino with licensing from Curacao so they are already fighting a unseen villain. I think after time it will become just another part of stake.

Honestly I think there are plenty more outlets for NL Hold'Em around, Stake is unique in this regard and in the way they implement their games in general. I am probably in the minority, but I'd like to see Stake remain Hold'Em free. I'd much rather them continue to add to their already stellar roster of games that are developed in their own Stake style.

Yeah I think so too, since they make all their games from scratch, and with their own touch. But Stake never seems to disappoint so if made they will make it to the best of their quality. Right with time this should be a thing. I'm expecting 5k+ online users in the future and with Poker they'll have to expand in size and staff. I believe.

Thanks for not only voting, but actually telling why. I get you, there are so many big poker sites etc, but to me I would love if even poker would be here. Like I don't have to take myself elsewhere to be playing poker. It will be like an actual casino with every single thing one would look for (Slots, BJ, Poker, Roulette etc). Rather than having to play dice on one site and crash on another. That way stake won't be retaining their players well. And for Stake it would be great too since, people who don't play poker would try out too, people who came for poker, would also try out the casino games and sportsbook.

Also apart from the new slots, I'm not too sure what they have in mind, and this is just a shout out for Stake to see. It's up to them to make whatever they like anyways. They come up with great things either way so Holdem Poker or a new game, I'd still be happy!
