Stake PM's got Removed?!?!

Featured Comment

Heya everyone :)

So I logged onto Stake today, only to find out that I could no longer PM some of my best friends on Stake. I thought it was a bug at first, but it seems like everyone can no longer PM their friends, or other users. I was heartbroken to see this, because private messages are how the community grows and people form new friendships. I am extremely disappointed in Stake for doing this, because if you ask most people why they stick around, they will say because of the COMMUNITY on this platform. How would we all make friends and build a sustainable community on Stake if we can talk to each other privately? For example, sometimes there is sometimes I want to share a personal story or event that happened to me to one of my friends, but now I can't. PM's are the reason why this community has grown to what it is today - because that is the basis for how friendships/community is built.

Now I would like to appeal to Stake to please bring the PM system back. If you see the screenshot, users can disable PM right in the Stake settings. As a SUGGESTION, if people are abusing this feature, disable PM's by DEFAULT for new accounts, but at least let the members use used it continue using it.

What do you guys think? Personally, I am extremely disappointed in Stake for taking this feature away from everyone, when they could simply allow it to be disabled by default, and allow those who want to use it - continue using it.

Let me know what you all think...

Well! i just talked to support , and @williamshennie9

"For the safety of our players we will be slowly phasing out on site private messaging. Over the last month Stake has been heavily attacked by scammers & other undesirable users abusing this system. Many people have as a result lost funds. To protect users we are making the necessary changes.

If you have an existing conversation with a player, you will still be able to message them. You will not be able to initiate new conversations. :)"

i support stakes descison of removing pm from stake . there r many ways to contact friends . eg discord telegram etc. u still have pm on stake forum. i dont think there is a need of pm on casino. since it wil cause a disturbance while u r rolling big. because most of the time "so called friends" are the ones who spam gl and can u help me messages when they see u on high roller tab. its just my opinion 🙂

Yes just removed PM messaging, many scammers trying to help you but in the end the scam. I got scammed by a user 2 weeks ago he ran off with my 900 Doge & 16XRP, I know its not a lot, but I just feel that you just can't trust people.

Hey,

I feel like what they've done with this new private message update is a good thing. I am with their decision on this because as they said, the amount of scams and that going off it is the right thing to do is add this option.

I think stake just want a transparency for all there player ideas reaction thoughts  and etc.. about what happening in there game or the relation with other player so they remove the priviate message and just  put in the chat room where you belong haha

#no beggars

This is a good move to keep the system more safe and secure. There are a ton of scammers who will try to trick you a thousand ways and steal money from you.

I'd say that it's a pity that the private messages aren't a thing anymore. Indeed, they are a way for people to scam others, but it's also a way for people to get in touch outside the main chat that everyone can see.

Scammers can still find their way, even on forum, by sending PM to others, on Telegram by finding users by their name and so on, but I don't know if it is mainly Stake's responsibility for who users decide to give their credentials to. It's a known thing that no matter what, you shouldn't open links from others, download files and also share the account with others, falling for any of these definitely is user's fault, not Stake's.

Maybe a higher filtering to the ones that have the ability to send messages might be a better solution? Like not being able to send a message to non friends, not being able to send messages under a certain amount wagered, not being able to send messages as a non-VIP and so on. I'd still agree more with a harder to achieve Private Messaging system than eliminating it completely :(

I'd say removing 2FA is way worse than removing PMs. 2FA is something that puts a security layer that prevents others that shouldn't have access to your account to make tips, whereas removing PMs will only put a security layer that prevents the user from falling for scams.

I agree completely. It is sad that Stake took the extreme approach of removing it for everyone when it was only a few users who fell for scams. They could have disabled PM by default - but at least let those who used it, to continue use it.

I also agree with you. Sometimes we have to talk each other in private ( no begging) . And reading every single message of the chat to making hello to your friend or any messages we want to notice our friends. How ppl fall into scam even stake has 2fa for every transaction action .
